Notes from the Race Director :)

I enjoy directing this race for many reasons..

1 - I enjoy running myself and therefore enjoy creating an affordable event for something I enjoy

2 - My personal goal is to gain better health...therefore, I like promoting an event that promotes health.

3- It's a positive event no matter how fit you are and it's great for the community. You can have fun if you want to be competitive (provide professional timing and mile markers) or if you just want to enjoy a nice walk and support a good cause (Dayton High School) you can walk the 5K

4 - This is a non-profit event. The proceeds benefit activites at the Dayton High School and the Willamette Valley Roadrunners Club ( http://www.wvroadrunners.org/ ) It feels good to give to good causes :)

5 - I like hanging out with friends! So after the race I get to enjoy the great Post race party at Seufert Winery! ( http://www.seufertwinery.com/ )

I also try to select sponsors that help promote health .....The finishline vendors/sponsors who give away samples to all participants ......Viso Beverages (healthy drinks), Betty Lou's inc (organic, healthy food) and Great Harvest Bread co (yummy, "homemade" bread)
